Red Dragons are similar to typical story book dragons. They shoot flames, can fly, etc. However, they aren’t evil creatures as depicted in myths and won’t go around raiding castles, killing knights, or kidnapping princesses. They live in a variety of habitats, from forests to coastlines to abandoned castles, usually in warm climates, and eat whatever living creatures they can find.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Redtail used to be a prey-hunter within Feline clan, but given his lackadaisical attitude towards life and his aptitude for eggs and hatchlings, he has chosen his own position as nursery keeper in the clan. This has led to some bold accusations from other dragons in the clan claiming that this position should only be reserved for females and that Redtail should be expected to pull his own weight as a true manly dragon. Redthroat allows him to stay as he is during her leadership and he greatly enjoys "mothering" the eggs and hatchlings.

Redtail is a big, hulking brute of a Red dragon, but he is as gentle as a kitten and could barely be asked to harm a fly (though he could, if pushed). He usually uses his sheer size as a defense towards other dragons but can be forced to use tooth and claw if needed.
