Sunbeam Drakes are the diurnal counterparts to Moonglow Drakes, their eggs having been laid during the daylight hours. They are around the size of a small dog, and while docile, can be flighty and easily startled. Most can be found high in treetops enjoying the bright sunlight, tucking themselves away at the first sign of a storm or impending nightfall. Sunbeam Drakes enjoy flying in the light of the sun, and their treetop dances are beautiful, dazzling, and serene.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

Rune of Dawn is a very friendly dragon in Lenapet's Clan. She loves people, especially children. She loves playing with them on crowded beaches, orphanages, or anywhere else with kids. She lets them pet her, feed her, and she even gives them rides. Even though she is known as Rune of Dawn in Lenapet's Clan, she is known as 'The Dawn of Happiness' for kids.
