Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It likes hiding under dead leaves and attacking your ankles when you pass by.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

This hatchling may well be the happiest hatchling around; it is definitely one of the most well-fed. Although the Orchard is run by humans (or at least the humans think so), and many of the inhabiting dragons have become almost tame over time, the area is large enough for the hatchling to not feel captive in any way. Its favourite playmates are the Pumpkin Dragons.
