Magma Dragons are capable of withstanding the intense temperatures of their element. They live in volcanic regions, their bodies coated in the red hot magma which clings to their scales. They must leave the lava fields in order to hunt, although they require surprisingly little food to sustain their lumbering mass.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

When Vesuvius was just an egg, his arrival at the Hilltop Mews perplexed the dragon keepers.  Where would they put this dragon who needed the heat of an active volcano to survive!  Finally one of the keepers of the Magi dragons, a magician herself, was able to come up with a solution—build a volcano of course!  Specialized caves were constructed, with help from the resident Magi dragons, that would contain the heat and lava required for Vesuvius and his offspring to remain healthy and happy, but that would be safe and stable enough to be attached to the rest of the Hilltop's complex.  Vesuvius is quite pleased with his magically manufactured environment, and lives quite comfortably lounging in what he finds to be a pleasant heat and scarfing down volcano-toasted livestock.
