Aria dragons are a brightly-colored and sprightly breed, perhaps most adored for their lyric calls. Their song-like melodies fill the areas they inhabit; their coos resemble those of birds, only more elegant and refined. They have fairly strong magical capabilities, but tend to reserve these strengths for last-minute defense, choosing to live their lives in simple peace. Arias, sticking to the tropics, typically live quite far from human settlements, giving rise to the previously held belief that they had gone extinct.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Both her and her brother, Flourescent, were adopted by a family of Pinks. While Flourescent made his own, separate life, away from the family, Pinwheel has stuck fairly close to her adoptive mother and brother, though she tends to disapprove of Punch's more promiscuous behavior. Pinwheel herself is soft, quiet, and generally mild-mannered. She's a friendly dragon, treating other creatures with nothing short of kindness and doing whatever she can to help those in need. That said, she is not a very brave dragon and will flee at the first sign of real danger, and, boy, can she run! Pinwheel has surprising physical physique for an Aria, especially one as young as her. Though her magical aptitude is pretty unimpressive, Pinwheel makes up for that with her acrobatic ability and speed. Pinwheel knows just how to escape a threat. Not a dragon alive has ever caught her in a game of chase, even those with high maneuverability themselves. She's just quick-witted enough to get out of any scenario.
