Striped Dragons come in a dazzling array of colors complemented by an intricate pattern of stripes. These bright colors and patterns help attract their favorite food, insects. Because their prey is so tiny, striped dragons must spend a large portion of their day eating. The color of the offspring is usually determined by the dragon’s mate.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Raidallinan is an ancient word meaning "Those with Stripes." It is therefore dishonorable to the clan and unfitting for any other kind of dragon to bear the name. The Clan Raidallinan has been around for years, and has grown to a decent size.

Valkoinia is High Lady of the Clan, being the first purebred dragon from the matron and the first born child of the current matron and patron of the clan. As High Lady, it is her job to understand and closely watch all the actions of the matron. She needs to learn the role of matron, for should anything happen to Valkoina, she would become the standing matron of the clan.

Her parents, Valkoina and Valkoino, have taught her that although she is the first purebred, that it does not mean she is any better than the others. She has a high respect for her three older siblings, Prasinos, Kirsikko and Sinina. She really looks up to her loving sister Sinina, who was her constant companion since she was a stripeless hatchling.
