Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Gracious Gift is perhaps as unlike her name as it is possible to be, though she does consider herself to be a gift to the cave. She likes to pontificate on her opinions, usually simply drowning out any opposing ideas in her assurance that she is correct. She sees no need to listen to anyone else, since she is convinced she is always right. Very few stand up to her obstinance for more than a few minute, and most who do admit defeat when they have a headache that renders further debate impossible. That she has few friends doesn't bother her. They are unable to see her value. That's their problem.
