Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s extremely curious and seems to enjoy exploring the area around it.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

This dragon, new to this cave and knowing no one, soon made friends with what seemed to be a female Geode hatchling. The two little dragons became good friends and couldn't have been happier, until one day they talked about growing up, and she found out that her Geode friend was suffering from a disease that stunted her growth. That day she swore an oath that she would never grow up herself, and -no one knows how- she managed to keep her word; and, out of solidarity for her friend, to this day she remains the size of a hatchling.
