Ochredrakes are a curious species with a wide array of mutations and interesting behaviors. Not as intelligent as normal dragons, they only breed with other drake species. While they may not be bright, ochredrakes are flamboyant and fun-loving with amazing, chirping voices to sing with, and tame readily in the presence of a gentle hand.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

Sand Drake is known as both foolish and wise as the other dragons in her tribe. She spends every night at the cliffs of the Caverns of Fate, staring at the moon from sunset until sunrise. Many young dragons sneak away from their tribe to visit her and ask her why she stares out at the moon all night; the only answer she gives to questions is a simple "yes", even if it's not a yes or no question. Hailing from a breed known for its stupidity, many of the other dragons snicker at her, explaining that staring at the moon for hours has made her even more dimwitted. Other dragons dismiss their taunts, claiming that she is the wisest dragon of all the lands and her authority should not be questioned.
