Fire Gem Dragons are a colorful, flamboyant breed often found in hot climates, particularly around active volcanoes. Their broad tails store the flames they breathe, which are colored by the heavy amount of minerals in the water they drink. These dragons come in a variety of colors, and will collect shiny trinkets and stones that match their own coloration. Despite their hoarding tendencies, though, Fire Gem dragons are social and will often congregate in groups and show off their collections while fawning over the stones their friends and rivals have gathered, occasionally arranging trades.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Xyawol Ichor, being a strong fire breather and powerful fighter, is one of the guardians of the volcano tower in his clan. The tower is a sanctuary for all his clan members that live in the volcanic clan territory. Xyawol is there to protect the clan members when they rest in the tower. Xyawol is a dedicated collector of all kinds of gems, stones, or trinkets and loves to wear them during breeding seasons so he can attract mates or show off. Xyawol is a flamboyant, happy, and quirky dragon though he can be greedy. In his free time, he loves to mine with his fellow fire gem dragon clan members and to trade away stones he dislikes for stones he prefers. He learned to compromise, to negotiate, and how teamwork works due to these activities. Occasionally, Xyawol aids his clan in raids, though he likes fighting he dislikes the true violence during those raids. Xyawol only really does those raids so he has the opportunity to steal away valuable items or other stones on enemy territory.
