Magma Dragons are capable of withstanding the intense temperatures of their element. They live in volcanic regions, their bodies coated in the red hot magma which clings to their scales. They must leave the lava fields in order to hunt, although they require surprisingly little food to sustain their lumbering mass.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Obsidiez CrispTail (after the gemstone: Obsidian) was the 210th dragon adopted into the clan, and like others of her kind, she lumbers through the depths beneath the main clan cave, tending to tasks that present themselves. Although some of her brethren clearly disapprove, she engages in harmless frivolity with the younglings of the clan, allowing the molten lava to crisp and harden upon her tail, then challenging them to break it away from her rock hard scales. The game dates back to her own youth, when some of her hatch mates took to cool her tail while she slept. When she awoke, still clumsy and without sure footing, she would waggle the encrusted limb back and forth, a vision of pure amusement to all in witness. In all good humor and grace, the game was born, and although it has changed over time, with pride and simple pleasure, she continues the practice as often as she is able. The Clan Mother snickers at the sight, and rarely misses one of her visits to the hatchling alcove.
