When Water Dragons mature, they lose the ability to survive on land, entering the water permanently. They are adept swimmers and eat whatever fish are in the lake they live in. They tend to inhabit the same lake for their entire lives, although a few live in the ocean and swim all over the world.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Lurkwater is kept in the display tanks located in the dungeons of the Velvet Sword. While one may think that a tank is too small for a water dragon, his tank has been enchanted to be very spacious in the inside and is stocked with living fish for him to hunt. Lurkwater is indifferent with being held captive, it all he has known ever since he hatched.

Hatchlings of the Velvet Sword, occasionally stop by and tap the glass. Lurkwater will then awaken and entertain the little dragons by manipulating his whiskers. A nice break in the monotony of the day.

He and Spiralstorm were intended to be a breeding pair, the Keepers had hoped to acquire a Two-Finned Bluna out of the two. But to the their dismay, both eggs hatched males. The Keepers are on the hunt for suitable mates.
