It was previously believed that purple dragons were exclusively female, but this is not the case. Recent environmental shifts have revealed the existence of both genders of this breed. Female behavior is well known; they are primarily herbivores but will eat meat during mating season. On the other hand, very little is known about the behavior and habits of male purple dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Lilac Lulu is shockingly vain. Really shockingly. She probably doesn't even know there are other females in the cave, as she has no interest in anything but attracting males. She spends hours combing through her luridly golden locks with her claws, and likes to lean over the lake to view the results reflected in its surface. The Cerulean group of water dragons in the cave think she is very silly, and take great delight in swimming around her and making ripples so that she cannot see herself. On the other hand—they do rather fancy her—all of them. And she knows that, so she doesn't get too cross; she just bides her time. It won't be long before she starts to receive love gifts of all sorts, she is sure. But she would rather they came from someone higher class—perhaps Ghiaccolo or Golden Vesuvius. She just hopes that whoever gives them to her, they include a bit of steak. She does like steak. Rare.
