Albino Dragons are so named because their translucent, scale-less skin lacks all pigment. Instead, to help protect their bodies from the sun, they are coated in an oily secretion that blocks the sun’s harmful rays. The call of an albino dragon is similar to a barn owl--a shriek instead of a roar.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Ever since he hatched, his mother told him what a beautiful child he was. Vain and arrogant as his mother is, Novo Argyros figures that she is not quite in touch with reality. She always praises how fabulous and flamboyant he looks, but personally he thinks his creamy albino skin too pale. In the end, he believes that his race is not the most beautiful dragons out there, to him they look dull and monotone.

Thus it is no wonder, that he wishes for a mate of a different race. A frill, perhaps, or maybe a nice nebula. Flamboyant, he imagines, would fit a hellfire or even a magma. Fabulous, he decides, are the looks of winter and ice dragons. Depressingly, he knows his chances of finding mates in such high class societies. So he will quietly resign himself to another albino, one with an intriguing personality maybe. And he will let his mother gush and glorify their family all she wants.
