Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.
Candle Jackinator dislikes his name, for it seems no dragons are able to finish his name before flying off in fear or just disappearing. They only seem to get as far as 'candle jack' before this strange behavior occurs. It seems the only ones immune to this effect are small yellow thing and happy pumpkin face, the two dragons that named him.
