Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s kind of shaky on its feet and enjoys playing in puddles.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

UniqueWaterHorse is a lonely Waterhorse Dragon hatchling. He spends most of his time swimming in the sea, alone. His only friend is his father, TenaciousWaterHorse. He watches his dad practice everyday with his band: 'True Blue Musicians' the dragon-only musical group. And he watches, from a bit further away, every one of their performances. These are basically his only social activity, and he rarely is around other hatchlings or adults outside of these concerts. UniqueWaterHorse is so shy that he can barely stammer out a response to the questions of other dragons.
