Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

GuardianOfNature is a Guardian of Nature Dragon hatchling. His species is legendary, and very rare. He helps his mother, NaturalGuardian, watch over their cave. He's young still, and learning how to be a true Guardian of his cave. He spends so much time practicing and studying that playing with the other hatchlings in his cave is a rare treat. GuardianOfNature loves to play, but he takes his apprenticeship very seriously, and doesn't sneak away from his duties to have fun very often. His mother fully understands how hard it is to be responsible for the whole cave, so she makes sure he gets a few breaks to just try and be a normal hatchling throughout the year.
