Fire Gem Dragons are a colorful, flamboyant breed often found in hot climates, particularly around active volcanoes. Their broad tails store the flames they breathe, which are colored by the heavy amount of minerals in the water they drink. These dragons come in a variety of colors, and will collect shiny trinkets and stones that match their own coloration. Despite their hoarding tendencies, though, Fire Gem dragons are social and will often congregate in groups and show off their collections while fawning over the stones their friends and rivals have gathered, occasionally arranging trades.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Ulrikka has a happy and outgoing nature but is viewed by some dragons as a little eccentric. While she enjoys collecting gems like others of her species, the gems themselves are not that important to her. They are just a means to an end. Her true passion is putting on a light show by breathing fire behind or underneath her gemstone displays in just the right way to create beautiful light effects. She spends hours preparing her shows by drinking from specific ponds, calculating the correct angle of light incidence, experimenting with brightness and duration of her bursts of fire, and so on. She will even smash a gem without a second thought, if she thinks the pieces may fracture the light in a more interesting way. This last part is what bothers many dragons, even though they usually love her shows.
