Swallowtail Dragons are graceful and quick flyers, much like their namesake bird. They are capable of precise aerial acrobatics, and can reach very high altitudes. Because of this, humans observing these dragons are often astonished at how large they are when confronted up close. A Swallowtail’s diet consists of insects and small mammals plentiful in temperate forests. These dragons are also made remarkable by their paper-thin wing membranes, which allow light to pass through, creating an astonishing effect on starry nights.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

This is Asher; hatched and raised in the bamboo forests of a far away land. He was bought as an egg by a human family and raised as a pet. Asher is hundreds of years old and has been in the family for many human generations. His human family realized he was depressed, for so many generations of his family had died and the newer generations would eventually die too. He was sent to this land to meet other dragons; he was the only dragon in the bamboo lands. Although Asher constantly misses his human family, he's very happy now that he has dragon friends with an unlimited lifespan like his.

    In the bamboo lands, Asher's skills were practiced by human senseis. He is swifter and quicker than other swallowtails. He was taught aerial combat. He will never start a fight, but he will easily finish one. He is wise, smart, and slightly humorous; he was raised well. His favorite things to eat in the bamboo lands were grasshopper and flying squirrel.
