Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its eyes glow brightly at night, and it enjoys attacking insects and small animals.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Found by The Priestess, The Little Obsidian was found to be the most willing helper Priestess ever found. Abandoned by her mother, Priestess raised Obsidian until Obsidian asked to be frozen at this convenient size. She rides on Priestess' shoulders, watching her mother carefully as she performed magic to those who needed help. Obsidian herself casts small spells for others when Priestess does not have time to do them herself. At one point, Obsidian saved her mother's life when a Magi wanted Priestess dead. She cast a strong enough spell to ward off the powerful Magi, not knowing the limits to her magic. Even though Obsidian is a small dragon, her magic is as strong as any adult Black Dragon. After saving her mother's life, she earned the name of "The Little Savior".
