Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has two heads. You expected it to have some color, though.

And look! It has grown wings and changed color! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Tinsels and Mates keeps raindear's Tinsels and their mates straight for raindear, so she doesn't have to remember which is which. She is very proud of the trust she holds and is always careful not to forget her charge. Her purple head remembers the Tinsels and her red head remembers the mates. With her heads always working together it is no surprise that there is seldom dissension between them.
