Lumina Dragons received their names from their highly reflective scales, which—at times—seem to glow. They are vain, always strutting about and preening incessantly; if one of their scales has so much as a scratch or a defect, they’ll remove it. Luckily, their scales grow back quickly, and each new growth is more beautiful than the last. These narcissistic dragons live in small groups and prefer to surround themselves with beauty. The females guard their territory and eggs while the males search for vegetation to eat.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Gazing upon a full moon on a clear, starry night:

brilliant stars shining in all their beauty

against the backdrop of a pure black sky,

crystal silence unbroken.

"The sky is alive tonight", the dragon decrees:

"What a beautiful aurora! Such magnificent colors!"

as he gazes upon shimmering waves of light,

dancing in the skies above.

The icy wind comes whistling through snowy plains:

like an ominous message from a faraway land

warning of snowstorms, burying all in sight,

an impending blizzard.

A lone snowflake drifts from the ominous, dark clouds:

followed by its companions, all the first signs

of a mighty blizzard with howling winds,

endless torrents of snow.

Hours later, deep within a cozy cave, sleeping:

the dragon slumbers, sheltered from the storm

and dreaming of a peaceful, moonlit plain,

stargazing forevermore.
