Flamingo Wyverns are so named for their resemblance to the tropical birds with whom they often share territory. Their most striking feature is the bony black crest over their faces and snouts, smaller in females, aiding both in digging up food and protection from attack. Females are noticeably brighter than males due to their habit of not straying far from particularly algae-rich feeding grounds.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Arvira can be adventurous almost to a dangerous degree, venturing too close to hazardous areas such as dense, unfamiliar forests or volcanoes inhabited by the ember dragon, Zenayth. With an acute interest to discover unknown segments of the world, Arvira and her mate Ziyth venture far and wide in opposite directions. Any length of separation seems to have no effect on their relationship as, after their widespread journeys, they can be found curled up together in the Zestragan cave. Uncomprehended by the rest of the clan is their ability to suddenly turn up within a few days of one another once neither of the pair has seen the other for months.
