Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It must be very shy since it keeps hiding from you.

It’s gotten slightly bigger! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Julep is one of the "Neverland Hatchlings" of Rekha Cave, having encountered a strange, magical field within the cave shortly after she hatched.  The shyest and gentlest of the group, she spends a lot of time hiding and watching the others play and show off.  The other Rekha dragons dote on her... when they can find her.  Her best friend is Snowdrop, an eternally-young white dragon who takes care of her whenever she takes a tumble.  Had they ever grown up, they would probably have become mates.
