Script Dragons are named for the markings along their wings and sides that look almost like calligraphy. The patterns correspond to no known language, and are slightly different on every dragon. These dragons only develop the characteristic markings when they reach maturity, and they are fairly capable with magic once the patterns appear.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

When young, Twissim was always in charge of any group of hatchlings she was a part of. She controlled all the games, got everyone into (and out of) trouble, and earned a lot of resentment from her peers. Twissim has mellowed with time, even joking that she's only good with spells because of being good at telling others what to do, and has channeled her tendency to order other dragons around into organizing plays and holiday events. She occasionally rants about what she would do if she ran the world, but her complaints are mostly tongue-in-cheek.
