Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Buffalo likes to bash almost anything he can, just to see how it will react. If he happens to collide with another dragon, Buffalo can usually get away before the other party's anger peaks. If not, Buffalo has remarkably strong skin that can withstand a good deal of damage. He is terribly stubborn and can be difficult to control. He prefers to sleep at night and is a real bundle of energy during the day.
