Coastal Waverunners spend most of their time skimming the waves along the coast, snatching up their prey from the shallow waters. They have developed markings along the leading edges of their body that help disguise them as breaking waves. When they are not hunting, they enjoy playing among sand-dunes and shallow tide-pools. These dragons live in small but noisy rookeries. Some stories say Waverunners can fly for days on end without landing.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

This dragon's name is Flapper, Second Lineage. Blaka has a very boisterous and rebellious nature, which makes her among the most popular in the early lineages among younger members of the colony. Before joining the Lineage, she was a member of a group of four dragons who had claimed a small territory along a set of coastal cliffs. When fish populations dwindled, Blaka and her partners decided to migrate south. During the journey, they were attacked by a group of trappers, and one of the four, Flaugus, was injured. The dragons were rescued by Skolira, who invited them to join her own little group.

When a group of dragons joins this colony, they are known as a Lineage. Lineages are numbered chronologically, and the dragon takes on that number as part of its true name. Lineage members are often very close with each other, and are represented in colony matters by their Vaktar, or "Protector". The early lineages consist of four members, whereas the late lineages have five or more.
