Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Sun-Sun is a part of the ancient race of Gold Dragons. They are said to be lucky and to always have the power of the gods on their side. The Gold Dragons are also distantly related to the sun god, who is said to be the one who originally blessed them and the reason why the they prosper. Sun-Sun is extremely loyal and that loyalty cannot be bought. He owed a debt to Alessandro Boulder, the herds leader, and thus joined the herd to repay it. However, after time he got to attached and is now a permanent part of the herd and loyal to everyone in it. He goes on monthly pilgrimages to the sun temple and loves to laze about on rocks during the day.
