Striped Dragons come in a dazzling array of colors complemented by an intricate pattern of stripes. These bright colors and patterns help attract their favorite food, insects. Because their prey is so tiny, striped dragons must spend a large portion of their day eating. The color of the offspring is usually determined by the dragon’s mate.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Goldentail Rose is the first child of Elsomei and Batril. She was born in a small cave overlooking a valley of common Primroses. She followed along her parents until maturity, whereupon she left them to create peace among the lands of the humans. She lives in the cave of her birth, but rarely ever returns except to sleep every week or so. A small tribe of native humans have created a community around her valley, and honour her as a goddess, which she insures them she is not. She sleeps so rarely as to avoid the tribe, who shower her with gifts and offerings. When she returns to her cave, she usually finds it filled with a wide variety of gifts, from bouquets of Primroses from the valley, to freshly baked bread, to cooked meat.
