Stone Dragons have a tough outer covering made of a stone-like material. They eat rocks, using the minerals they contain for nourishment and to keep up their stone outer shell. They rarely move, and are the heaviest of all types of dragons. Although they have wings, indicating flight ability, no one has ever seen a stone dragon flying.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Kotai Tamashi Suisho, meaning Solid Soul of the Crystal family, is the only known dragon of the second Suisho generation offspring to be born a Stone Dragon. Unlike his brother and sister, who are beautiful Geode dragons, Kotai is a solid and dully colored Stone dragon who has a hard time living it up in the shadows of his brother and sister. Even compared to his runaway brother, Kotai is seen as very little in the family's eyes, making him for a lonely dragon.

Kotais complexes where beginning to be dealt with by his faithful mate Kuro, and he was becoming quite good at be proud of who he was until the birth of his daughter who was a Geode Dragon. Kotai has relapsed many times, and cannot be near his own offspring for it.
