Terrae Dragons are primarily herbivores who prefer to eat from the tops of trees. However, due to their massive size, they must rely on small, specialized scales to absorb and convert energy from the sun. Since they live in tightly-knit groups, this form of energy absorption helps preserve the forests in which these dragons reside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Sacred to the Sami people of the arboreal forests, the terrae herds are unknown to most of the world of Mirror.  Nomads that they were, following the herds rather than taming dragons to stay with them, the Sami found it an easy secret to keep, and the dragon keeper Lorraine had no notion of the Terraes' existence.

No notion, that is, until a tribe of Sami appeared on her doorstep, leading a young Terrae cow and cradling a sickly human babe.  THEY had heard of HER, and they sought her help; their runes said the babe would die without the milk of a Terrae, but the tribe had to go far to the south to trade and did not trust that the sacred cow would be safe.

The cow was gentle by nature and easy to milk each day, to Lorraine's relief.  The Sami returned and claimed her without incident; but the cow stayed with the tribe, and each year was brought to Lorraine as they traveled south, until one day the Sami did not return.
