Green Dragons are also sometimes called “earth” dragons. They usually live deep within caves, and have power over the earth. They are capable of launching boulders at high speeds, and can cause earthquakes by slamming down onto the ground.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Emerald Mountain had started life as the only survivor of four eggs. For a while he didn't come in contact with anybody, human or dragon, and then he met his caretaker. She had patiently worked with him to gain his trust, and even managed to hatch Forma, who became his good friend. Due to his solitary start, Emerald still avoids the bulk of the ever-growing clan of his caretaker, and prefers to stay to the outskirts, where his mate, Ilniana V, keeps him company.
