Feisty and energetic, Whiptail Dragons pride themselves on their speed and agility. It is not unusual to see several whiptails racing each other. Though fragile, they can easily evade attacks with their superior speed, and often use their long tails as a weapon, giving rise to their name.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Despite Mud's short legs, he is faster than any other living or magical being in Thaldane, the city he inhabits. Mud's reputation isn't a good one in his city. He doesn't have a true home, instead his temporary homes vary from the sewers, to the many cracks in the castle walls, to hidden corridors, to an orphanage. Mud steals medicine, money, food from the bakery, or sometimes even things from king's home to give the food to his little angels or the orphans. Everyone in town hates him and consider him a rat. Unlike the majority of dragons, Mud doesn't care for his reputation or if people call him names. He only cares for doing what's right, knowing it and loving it.
