Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It is clearly a water animal.
And look! Its fins have grown larger! It must be close to maturing.
Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.
User Description
This tiny creature positively HATES water, and will plunk moodily down on the docks, waiting for some kindly creature to come stuff fish into her squeaking mouth. This hatred is doubtless due to a nasty encounter with a shark that occurred early in her childhood; despite her mother's best efforts, the youngster refuses to get back in, ever. But hopefully everything will be alright, for while she loathes the sea, she's quite a skilled flier and has snatched small fish out of the air the moment they decide to take a leap; she'll be able to care for herself just fine.
