Considered heralds of ill fortune, Omen Wyrms are usually found in areas previously ravaged by disaster or strife, blending in amongst the foliage. Due to the unique appearance and texture of their bodies, they often pass as dead trees as they wait for unsuspecting prey. Their haunting cry—like that of a hollow-sounding horn—is a sure signal to run: it is always followed by the dragons’ furious wrath, which manifests in the form of fiery cascades. Escape from an Omen Wyrm is possible, however; it is said they will not dare follow their quarry across running water, no matter the cause of their vexation.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
User Description
Her name means "Cursed Hunter".
This specimen was identified entirely by accident in the field. She has a tendency to seek out areas recently affected by volcanic activity, the better to blend in with ashen, dead trees and inconsistent wildfires. It is best to avoid the area entirely, once she is identified, because she greatly dislikes humans due to some unknown past offense; she will almost always attack if one draws near, and she does not always do them the service of howling in anger beforehand. Truthfully, she greatly dislikes all other life, with the sole baffling exception of Kar'la Saan, a male Diamondwing. If caught unaware by her presence, seek the nearest source of running water and cross it; her species is well-documented to cease chasing their targets after that, although the reasoning behind this is uncertain. (Current theories include a simple hatred of water, as they are naturally fire-inclined; or else the water is symbolic, washing away the individual transgression.)
