Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Noel Winterdream is a Dragontown fixture every winter, and always ends up playing Grandfather Frost's magic reindeer.  He has endless patience for ribbons in his mane and tinsel in his antlers (though he draws the line at candy canes and sticky candies, after it took several hours and the combined efforts of Elciar, Xywin, and most of the Pygmy Mousers to get the residue off of him one year) and even lets some of the smaller children ride him.  Noel Winterdream always brings a large dose of Yuletide cheer with him (as well as plenty of jokes and stories to keep the poor person entertained who got stuck playing Grandfather Frost), and is eagerly awaited every year on the first day of winter.
