Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

This dragon's name means "Male Black Dragon" in Latin. He is not particularly spectacular as far as his species goes. While he is physically average for his kind, he has trouble hunting at night. Pullus's scales are very reflective- a trait that comes from his silver dragon mother- which often alerts prey to the dragon's presence.

   Pullus Mas was the first dragon to be taken in by this scroll's owner as part of a scheme to recreate the Roman Empire. Pullus had wandered too far from the nest when he was ambushed by a man and placed in a burlap sack. Not long after, the kidnapper started to train the hungry dragon, rewarding work with food. At first, Pullus planned on killing his captor when he became strong enough, though as time passed, he came to respect his new master and eventually came to like him. Pullus has since aided his master and friend in acquiring eggs to raise for the glory and creation of Nova Roma.
