Lumina Dragons received their names from their highly reflective scales, which—at times—seem to glow. They are vain, always strutting about and preening incessantly; if one of their scales has so much as a scratch or a defect, they’ll remove it. Luckily, their scales grow back quickly, and each new growth is more beautiful than the last. These narcissistic dragons live in small groups and prefer to surround themselves with beauty. The females guard their territory and eggs while the males search for vegetation to eat.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Aura is the Alpha female of Lumen's clan, and she is Lumen's mate. She is very regal, and poised, never allowing herself to be "degraded" by doing work. Her scales are her pride and joy, and she is always cleaning them, and she refuses to even go near mud or dirt. She has developed almost a phobia of uncleanliness, and if even one of her scales gets the tiniest amount of dirt on it, she'll go catatonic. Luna knows this, and he uses it to get her to fight. He will take her with him and a troop to intercept a raid, and as soon as one of the bandits lays a claw on her, she loses it, and attacks. Her scales seem to repair themselves as she fights too...
