Magi Dragons are, as their name suggests, primarily magic users. They rarely use physical forms of attack. They eat anything they can kill, which is almost everything. They won’t kill unprovoked except when hunting, although they may kill humans if in danger. Their strong magic makes them one of the most feared breeds of dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Burnland is a male magi dragon, considered to be the unofficial leader of the flight. He's constantly using his magic to keep peace among the dragons. Burnland also controls the trading of eggs and hatchlings in his flight. He has recently decided that the dragons should not claim any more eggs from the biomes as there are plenty of abandoned eggs that are desperate for a home.

Burnland has very little spare time since he is very dedicated to his work. When he does have some time to himself he spends it with his mate, Watermere. Burnland loves Watermere and always wants to make her happy. Burnland's first grandchild was bitten a vampire and he blames himself for this tragedy.

Burnland is intelligent and has a strong sense of right and wrong. However, sometimes he must make difficult decisions. Burnland does not remember his parents. He was stolen from them when he was an egg.  Burnland tries his hardest to help his flight and his family as best he can.
