Shimmer-scale Dragons are a very beautiful breed with small—but highly reflective—scales that shimmer and shine as the dragon moves through water. They don’t have fins or webbed feet, but their long, eel-like bodies allow them to swim quite fast. They were once rumored to carry large pearls in their claws—causing many to seek them out in search of this fabulous treasure. In reality, the “pearl” is of greater value to the dragon, for the fabled treasure is actually an egg carried by a migrating female.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The graceful whorls and shining colors that make up this dragon suggest beauty, dignity, and pride. Of all of those, only one is right! While she is quite stunning to look at, Merry is an excitable klutz on the inside, her energetic pursuit of chocolate often landing her in one (sometimes literally!) sticky situation after another. While such antics don't exactly inspire awe, her dazzling appearance and friendly nature have led some of the local humans to claim she is a powerful nature spirit all the same, offering her sweets as thanks for her 'inspirational' presence. Whether this is really just an elaborate excuse to shower the affectionate beast in chocolate remains to be seen...

When not busy going about her divine duties of sampling desserts and scaring off bullies, Merry spends all her remaining time frolicking with her baby brother. The locals often insist she's going to spoil him rotten, but she insists nothing but good can come from a sibling so sweet!
