Red Dragons are similar to typical story book dragons. They shoot flames, can fly, etc. However, they aren’t evil creatures as depicted in myths and won’t go around raiding castles, killing knights, or kidnapping princesses. They live in a variety of habitats, from forests to coastlines to abandoned castles, usually in warm climates, and eat whatever living creatures they can find.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Malvolo, a name that when mentioned, dampens the mood of any conversation. She is known among the dragons of the valley she lives in, called Draco Sancta, as one dragon never to cross paths with. She terrorizes adults and hatchlings alike, leaving a trail of destruction behind. She is angered by anything, and befriends no one. No one knows how she became the way she is, or at least they haven't said so. It is rumored that Miss Tigerlily, the dragon keeper of the Draco Sancte, knows Malvolo's hidden past. Some say she was a hatchling sold on the Black Market to an unkind owner before her current one found her, or perhaps she was put under a dark curse as a young dragon. Whatever the case, no one approaches her, she doesn't approach anyone, and the mystery of her past, future, and the malice in her heart remain unseen.
