Shallow Water Dragons are found in tropical regions where the water is warm. They use their magic to hunt, using bubbles to capture small fish and animals. Their large, webbed feet make them excellent swimmers and they are able to move at very high speeds. Due to their bright color, these dragons are easily spotted in the lagoons where they live.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Tang Seastorm, alongside Nectar Leafstorm, is a Sweeper, or a dragon who cleans up after all the others in the Storm Pack. She uses her ability to splash water to rinse the floor clean of blood after battles, and to wash other messes out as well. All of the trash and leftovers the duo remove from the cave is thrown into the hot spring beside the Storm Pack's cave, where it boils the bones to a clean, pearly glitter, and all the other trash into swirls of darker colored water. Tang, without any dragons knowing, takes those shiny bones into a secret cave she found and is building a massive bone mound that she sits on to relax after a long cleanup. She does her nasty job with a smile, like all the dragons say, but is secretly biding fury about her lowly position, and is part of Sapphire Seastorm's growing alliance of rebels.
