Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Dearest Wish is a Wrapping-wing Christmas Dragon. Dearest Wish decorates the town in his clan's territory as well as the clan's cave. Some of the other dragons in the clan are annoyed at the decorations, but the hatchlings love playing with them, especially the ribbons, which they tear and tug. Dearest Wish, of course just re-decorates. Dearest Wish is a very fretful dragon, tweaking his displays every day, or sometimes even twice a day! Dearest Wish loves decorating with candy canes and icicles and always dusts the rooftops with powdery snow. Even though he gets annoyed at the hatchlings for destroying his decorations, Dearest Wish loves to play with them. All three Christmas dragons are united by a love of the clan's young.
