Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It enjoys swimming in a nearby pond.

And look! Its fins and tail have gotten bigger, and you’ve moved it to a larger body of water to swim in. It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Silverline Starlight has a rare condition that affects her kidneys. In her hatchling stages, they are as normal as any others, functioning perfectly. But when she ascends to adulthood, the kidneys remain the same size as in her hatchling form, eventually killing her through inefficiency.

Her dragontender decided to retain the little dragon in permanent youth, just to preserve her life. For this, Silverline is most grateful, and it regularly shows.

Although a young body, she has a mind of an adult, albeit a sad one. She is a devout pacifist, and will only eat fish she knows have died from disease or natural causes. As such, she is quiet, and rarely speaks to others.
