Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The Countess known as Dimdawn is a shameful topic to her brood and mother Nodrith. Masquerading as another, she seduced her father Elaioth, who was known to get around himself, resulting in the hatching of multiple eggs. She never gave a reason for her betrayal. Then, she never does. Dimdawn marches to her own drum. She is loyal to no one but herself. A fierce competitor and magic user, she is rarely crossed. There has been talk of her being banished from the estate. However, the fear of fighting against her rather than with her is greater than the loathing of her presence. Many hope one day she will merely fail to wake up.
