Spitfires are a desert breed of dragon. Their dull brown bodies contrast with their brilliant turquoise markings, and they only blaze brighter when these dragons fight. Spitfires are notorious for their territorial natures, and the wing-edges of most are ripped and tattered before their first year is out. Spitfires are also noteworthy for their brilliant blue fire, which is used not for hunting or fighting, but rather for making glass caves from the sand, in which the dragons can soak up the sun.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Harsh, Karaz reflects the desert around him. Karaz controls a territory that surveys a large swath of the Oshun desert. Dragons do not age as humans do but Karaz feels that his golden era is being wasted on petty squabbles and making glassware for trade. Recently Karaz came across a strange green dragon of a kind he had never seen before in the desert. The green dragon named himself Shan Verdantis and said he was on a mission for someone named Solaria. This mission entails picking over the ruins of the dread Grundian empire that lay south of the Oshun. Seeing a chance to test his might against the world Karaz, uninvited, joined Shan on his journey south, and they became fast friends. However, things have become strange as they journey south, and just the other night they fought off a strange beast that appeared to be a dragon but felt no pain and had rottened flesh. With the undead having been banished for millennia their discovery could be of world-shaking importance.
