Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Ever since hatching, Sturdy was very strong both physically and mentally. As he is related to the great Penk, he was given a position of power among the dragons who lived alongside him. As he grew however, he learned more about his heritage. He may be related to a legend, but his mother was a legend for a completely different reason. She is a hostile dragon, who preaches about how evil Man is... and Sturdy only knew this after meeting her. After the meeting, he was never quite the same. He believes that he could never shake the legacy, and he is just waiting for a new dragon to come along so he can retire as king.
