Thunder Dragons are the masters of electricity. Their wings gather energy as they soar through the clouds, and when they clap their wings together they can create devastating arcs of lightning. They can stay airborne nearly indefinitely, landing only to sleep and breed; they catch their prey from the air and take moisture from the clouds. A thunder dragon’s roar is considered to be an omen of misfortune.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Tarnon believes that one day a wandering, legendary storm will arrive at his homeland with no prior warning and flood the entire world for a hundred years. He also believes it can only be stopped by a human boy wielding the "master sword" and backed by six elemental monsters. Most just think he's a little bit odd in the head and start to ignore him when he asks for a moment of their time to discuss their "master and champion, Hilbert". Outside of those ramblings, Tarnon is otherwise very straight-talking and logical with a good amount of wisdom having been built up in his years. He's mostly dedicated to building a temple up on top of a tall mountain to dedicate to this 'Hilbert' in the oddly specific shape of a spiral. In this Dragonspiral temple live his mate and their children. While his mate and their younger children mostly just listen when he speaks of his hero, his daughter Tarbari often challenges him, claiming that another hero will save the land. A hero named N.
