Sunbeam Drakes are the diurnal counterparts to Moonglow Drakes, their eggs having been laid during the daylight hours. They are around the size of a small dog, and while docile, can be flighty and easily startled. Most can be found high in treetops enjoying the bright sunlight, tucking themselves away at the first sign of a storm or impending nightfall. Sunbeam Drakes enjoy flying in the light of the sun, and their treetop dances are beautiful, dazzling, and serene.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

User Description

Emo sunshine is very timid for a day glory. She was caught by a human when she was a freshly matured dragonling. The human that caught her was a young boy, and he smashed one of her legs and a wing in an attempt to cause her pain. She was further traumatized by being attacked by a pack of wild dogs while she was grounded. She was rescued by a dragon called That's Very Awkward, who flew her to safety, fed her, and is now her mate. She's never been the same since then, however. Her wing never fully recovered: Her flight pattern is wobbly and her wings are crooked. She's still very nervous around humans and other dragons, and often spends hours wallowing in self-pity and fear.
