Dorsal Dragons are so named because they have large fins along their backs that can be raised and lowered at will. They use these fins to regulate body temperature; they raise them to cool off when they become overheated. The bright colors on the fins double as a means of attracting mates.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Not many have spoken long with Veloptres. He is always spending hours in his lair with scientific research. Analyzing multiple materials, he refuses to give up and is determined to prove his theory is correct, lending even more credence to the idea he had gone a little insane even before his obsession.

Despite the accusations, he can be friendly and is rather intelligent, solving some physical or scientific problems for those who stop by. He loves books on evolution and biology, making them perfect gifts or payment for any services. He likes the taste of oranges, but also enjoys the taste of cornmeal (possibly attributed to his research). When he needs to clear his head for a moment, he will spend time at the waterfall near his home, sometimes allowing the waters of it to wash over him.

Newcomers often visit on hearing of his great intelligence, but none believe his theorem. They just don't see how chickens can be the next evolutionary step from dragons, feathered wings or not...
